About
Our mission is to serve as a compass for our clients - providing a proven roadmap and expert support to navigate RFP requirements and win work. Our goal is to be your partner in pursuit of the win.
Kim Stone founded WinBridge with one simple mission - to help companies win.
With 25 years of experience leading strategic proposals for companies including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Kiewit, she helps teams navigate government acquisition to deliver winning proposals.
Kim relishes in solving the puzzle of a government proposal. She enjoys working with multidisciplinary engineering teams to communicate innovative solutions within often-challenging requirements - all while complying to the maze of federal regulations.
Her expertise differentiates her in a few key ways:
Rapid Acquisition Experience - With the increasing demand for industry to deliver critical national security, mobility, and infrastructure solutions faster, the old way of developing proposals does not always apply. A shorter acquisition cycle requires a creative application of proposal best practices to retain quality with a shorter response cycle. Kim has considerable experience successfully leading awarded proposals under the full range of contract types, including OTAs, BAAs, and others. Her approach to managing all proposals is uniquely centered around flexibility, communication, and making the most of the the time and resources available.
Capture Transition Expertise - Effectively translating the win strategy into a proposal is the difference between winning and losing. This is well known. In reality, however, strategy is rarely 100% mature when the solicitation is released. Kim’s approach is to review strategy gaps with the full proposal team and, working with the capture manager, maintain an action plan to close strategy gaps as the proposal itself matures. She facilitates informal, small team discussions timed around formal color team reviews to capitalize on the insight and expertise of key team members. This agile approach results in a fully integrated, low risk proposal reflecting all areas of the business.
Business Process Knowledge - Between her experience and graduate studies in business, Kim understands the behind-the-scenes business processes required to develop a technical approach, price, contract terms, and more. With her in-depth knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the capture manager, program manager, chief engineer, estimating lead, and others, she can effectively tailor the proposal schedule and review cycles around internal functional reviews and approvals, supporting risk assessment and mitigation across multiple aspects of the offer.
Proposal Specialty Experience - Throughout Kim’s career, she has managed all aspects of proposal development, including strategy, planning, writing, editing, graphic design, color team reviews, desktop publishing, production, orals, and more. Not only can she fill any proposal support role, she understands how these support roles integrate into the larger proposal team. When managing a proposal, she engages these proposal specialists early in the process to ensure they understand the key details and deadlines. This approach gives specialists an opportunity to ask questions, resolve concerns, and empowers them to proactively collaborate with technical and other subject matter experts.
